Crooked Face Creamery
Position: Retail Shop and Farmers’ Market Staff
Hours: 10-15+ hrs week. Specifically representing CFC at the Freedom Farmers’ Market from June - August / Tuesdays from 8am arrival at CFC - 4pm return/unload and year round fill in retail shop associate.
Business description: Crooked Face Creamery is a small batch artisan cheese company. We produce award winning fresh and aged cheeses for retail and wholesale markets. Our specialty is our line of Whole Milk Ricotta, specifically our Applewood Smoked Ricotta, which is nationally recognized and distributed to a wider wholesale market. Due to the pandemic, we have shifted our focus to more on retail sales, and expanding our online and brick and mortar store with other local products including Maine cheeses, cured meats, merchandise and provisions. Our customers want to know where their food is coming from, who makes it, their story, and what makes the products we sell so unique. Solely owned and operated for over 15 years, Crooked Face Creamery is looking to grow its team. As our retail and wholesale sales have grown, it’s made it more difficult for us to attend off site markets, which is why we are looking for a farmers’ market staff and occasional fill in retail market associate during the busy summer months.
Job description: We are looking for a committed and engaging individual who is passionate about Maine cheese, and is excited to work at special events, mostly in a farmers market setting, handling retail sales, customer service, and sampling products. We expect an outgoing friendly disposition, ability to lift coolers and set up our stand, knowledge in food safety and cleanliness, to represent our product professionally, and be willing to try our cheeses and learn how they are best served and what they pair well with.
